Introduction

Essedrop (pronounced /ɛsdrɑːp/) is a tool that helps you upload and use images for your website with ease. When building a website, you often need to display images, but local files cannot be used directly. Essedrop was created to solve this problem in a simple way.

Features

  • No need for complex tools like FTP or technical knowledge.
  • Unlike web storage services, you are not limited when displaying images on your web pages.
  • Everything works directly in your web browser.

How to Use

  1. Drag and drop your file into the browser window to upload it.
  2. Click on the uploaded image to copy its URL.
  3. Paste the URL into your website code or wherever you need the image.

Background

Essedrop was created as part of the development of Essepage, a service that makes it easy for anyone to code websites online. While planning Essepage, I realized that image uploading was an essential feature. Even though Essepage allows full use of HTML, inserting images is fundamental for building web pages. That is why I built Essedrop — a simple and convenient way to upload images from your local computer and display them on your website.

Future Plans

Essedrop will continue to expand beyond image hosting, with upcoming features such as:

  • CDN Caching functionality
  • Support for video files
  • Support for other static files

With Essepage and Essedrop together, you can freely create and manage your own websites with ease.
